Siem Reap has colonial and Chinese-style architecture in the Old French Quarter and around the Old Market. However it is mostly famous for being the home to Angkor Wat. Originally built in the 12th century. Spread across more than 400 acres. It is the largest religious monument in the world. Originally dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, Angkor Wat became a Buddhist temple by the end of the 12th century.
