05 NIGHTS 06 DAYS HELI TOUR OF SRI LANKA

DAY 01 – ARRIVAL / AIRPORT / COLOMBO SIGHTSEEING

The minute your plane touches down at BIA airport, you will be whisked away to the plush Silk Route Lounge with dedicated concierge services, attendants and your private chauffeur guide to process your papers and collect your luggage. You will then be transferred to Colombo (Approx. 01-hour drive) where you can relax after the flight.  Check-in to the Uga Residence Colombo.

Evening Commence sightseeing of Colombo.  (Approx. 1.5 hours’ drive).  Thereafter, Dine in at Colombo’s hidden away street food locations. Start off by enjoying a seafood appetizer by the Ministry of Crabs.  Late evening return to the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 02 – COLOMBO / ANURADHAPURA SIGHTSEEING

This morning you will be transferred to your hotel in Anuradhapura by Helicopter (Airbus H120)

Full journey takes Approx. 01 hour by air

Later in the afternoon, commence sightseeing of Anuradhapura, the first Capital city of Sri Lanka. This sacred city was established around a cutting from the ‘tree of enlightenment’, the Buddha’s fig tree, brought there in the 3rd century B.C. by Sanghamitta, the founder of an order of Buddhist nuns. Anuradhapura, a Ceylonese political and religious capital that flourished for 1,300 years, was abandoned after an invasion in 993. Hidden away in dense jungle for many years, the splendid site, with its palaces, monasteries and monuments, is now accessible once again.  Late evening return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 03 – ANURADHAPURA / SIGIRIYA / ANURADHAPURA

This morning, after breakfast proceed to Sigiriya (approx. 01 ½ hours drive) to climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO world heritage site. It’s commonly called the ‘Fortress in the Sky’ and probably the most fantastic wonder of Sri Lanka. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-ft rock.

Thereafter proceed to Habarana (Approx. 30 mins drive from Sigiriya) to experience a rural village tour.

The peaceful village of Hiriwaduna is located closer to Habarana/Dambulla area. Start with a scenic walk along the “bund” of a man-made reservoir, enjoy a catamaran ride across the streamline to visit Chena cultivation, followed by a visit to a humble farmer’s vegetable corner where you will pick your own vegetables and join in preparation of a Sri Lankan meal to enjoy and taste!!!

Return back to your resort and enjoy a swim in your private plunge pool or you can select a number of activities available at the resort premises.

DAY 04 – ANURADHAPURA / HATTON

This morning, after breakfast you will be taken to the hill country by Helicopter (Airbus H120). Full journey takes Approx. 01 hour.

Check in to The Ceylon Tea Trails and spend the day at leisure or take a bicycle ride to the mountains. The unspoiled beauty of the surrounding valleys and hills are a great biking experience. They have mountain bikes in the bungalows for complimentary use. For longer rides, we recommend that you take one of their guides along.

DAY 05 – FULL DAY AT LEISURE OR OPTIONAL SIGHTSEEING

Breakfast at the hotel. You can choose any of the activities from the following or spend your day at leisure in your tea plantation bungalow.

Tea experience:

​This is the essential Tea Trails experience. Their Resident Tea Planter will demonstrate the age-old tea making process.

Optional –

White Water rafting:

​Your adventure starts at a beautiful natural base in Kitulgala about 1hours 5 minutes from Ceylon Tea Trails. After a safety briefing and a few pointers on the rafting technique, you’ll jump right into the action.

Nuwara Eliya Sightseeing:

You will reach to Nuwara Eliya in 1 Hour through winding roads and lush green valleys, tea estates situated on the slopes and banks of the hills, with tiny streams and water falls and the beautiful misty mountains, one can arrive at Nuwara Eliya town which offers you everything, as any other town does and more.

Nuwara Eliya to enjoy its ‘Home away from Home” feeling. Hence the name “Little England” which is a name given by many foreign visitors. The pink brick Victorian Post office is a sure reminder of the British era.

DAY 06 – HATTON / AIRPORT / DEPARTURE

Having reached the end of your program, you will be transferred to the Bandaranaike International Airport by Helicopter (Airbus H120, the journey takes Approx. 45 mins) from where you will continue onwards to your next destination.
